Mandella effect

I wrote in my informal blog a while back that my mind was contaminated with false memories. The internet community as coined the term Mandela effect. This is the theory that memories from parallel worlds are contaminating our minds. In these parallel worlds, historical events happen differently. The Mandela effect fits my condition fairly well. Because I remember things that never happened. I remember that Mr. T and Carly Simon died but they didn't.

The thing that really got me is the kit Kat logo. I remember a small rectangle in between the kit and kat words. In this world, it was never there but my brain was contaminated with this false memory.
I wonder if the Mandela effect is an official theory or if it has another scientific term. I think the reason it is called the Mandela effect is because many people remember Nelson Mandela dying in the 80's when he actually died in 2013.

Perhaps there's a world out there like ours where princes Diana never died but people remember her having a fatal car crash in Paris.
